"Cups are our passion." This is how the long-established Carinthian company Volpini presents itself as a leading producer of high-quality plastic packaging. You can read the story of how it all began here:
The history of Volpini began in 1906, when Anton Volpini de Maestri III acquired a cardboard factory in Carinthia. Despite numerous challenges – including the post-war period and industrial changes – the company was successfully managed for decades.
However, due to market shifts, the cardboard production had to be discontinued after many successful years. In the early 1970s, the company decided to embrace change and transitioned to the production of plastic packaging, despite initial resistance. From then on, the focus was on the manufacturing of yogurt cups and extrusion processes.
In 1992, Dr. Anton Volpini V took over the company, bringing innovative ideas. In the late 1990s, Volpini developed the "Desto Cup" – a groundbreaking innovation on the market. This cup combines a thin-walled plastic cup with a decorative cardboard wrap, offering a more sustainable packaging solution.
The years 2005 and 2006 marked significant changes: yogurt cup production was reorganized, and the company relocated to a newly built, modern facility.
In 2021, the founding family withdrew from the business. Today, Volpini Verpackungen GmbH Austria is jointly owned by Fostec Ventures GmbH and RWD Vermögens- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH.
